At Tilly’s Balance Co., protecting your privacy is a fundamental part of how we do business. We recognize that financial and personal information is deeply sensitive, and we are committed to handling all client information with the highest level of care, discretion, and professionalism. Our practices align with Canadian privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), as well as professional confidentiality standards applicable to accounting and bookkeeping services in New Brunswick.
We collect only the information necessary to provide accounting, bookkeeping, tax, payroll, budgeting, and advisory services. This information may include personal details, contact information, financial records, business information, and government-issued identifiers where legally required. Information is collected directly from clients unless written authorization is provided allowing us to obtain it from another source. We do not collect unnecessary data, and we do not use client information for purposes unrelated to the services we provide.
Client information is used solely to deliver agreed-upon services, meet regulatory and Canada Revenue Agency requirements, maintain accurate records, communicate with clients, and protect against fraud or unauthorized access. We do not sell, trade, or share personal information. There are no hidden clauses or undisclosed uses of client data.
By engaging Tilly’s Balance Co. and signing this Privacy Policy, clients consent to the collection, use, and storage of their information as outlined. Consent may be withdrawn at any time, subject to legal and contractual obligations. Withdrawal of consent may limit our ability to continue providing services where information is required to do so.
We do not disclose client information to any third party without proper authorization. Information may be shared only when legally required, when authorized by the client for filings or regulatory purposes, or when necessary to deliver services through trusted software providers that are bound by confidentiality and privacy obligations. We will not release information to spouses, family members, employees, business partners, or other third parties without explicit authorization, regardless of relationship or circumstance.
Safeguarding client information is a priority. We use reasonable and appropriate physical, digital, and administrative measures to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Access to client information is limited strictly to what is necessary to perform services. Records are retained only as long as required to meet legal, regulatory, and professional obligations, and are securely destroyed when retention periods expire.
To further protect client privacy, no personal or financial information will be discussed or released unless identity has been verified. Identity verification procedures are established at the start of the client relationship and may include personalized security questions and answers chosen by the client, information not commonly known or publicly accessible, or a combination of verification methods. We do not rely solely on caller ID, email address, or familiarity. If identity cannot be confirmed, information will not be released under any circumstances.
Clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete information, keeping their contact details up to date, protecting their own sensitive documents and login credentials, and notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access or privacy concerns.
Clients have the right to request access to their personal information and to request corrections where information is inaccurate or incomplete. Requests must be made in writing and may require identity verification before information is provided.
In the unlikely event of a privacy breach involving client information, Tilly’s Balance Co. will take immediate steps to contain and assess the situation, notify affected clients as required by law, and comply with all reporting obligations under Canadian privacy legislation.
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in legal requirements or business practices. The most current version will always be available on our website.
For questions or concerns related to privacy, clients may contact Tilly’s Balance Co. at admin@tillysbalanceco.ca or (506)356-4694.
By engaging Tilly’s Balance Co. and signing this Privacy Policy, clients acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms outlined above.
